Seymour Marine Discovery Center: A Symbol of Community Achievement

As we celebrate another year of outstanding achievements in our community, it's essential to recognize the hard work and dedication that goes into making a difference. The Seymour Marine Discovery Center is proud to be part of this endeavor, and we're thrilled to share the story behind our latest creation - a stunning emblem commemorating the Best of the Best.

The idea was born from a desire to create a physical reminder of the remarkable people and businesses that have made this year so special. We wanted something that would not only stand out but also reflect the community's spirit and values. Together with Thomas Hitefield, owner of Jeffries Wood Works in Seymour, we chose walnut and maple wood to craft our emblem.

The process was a collaborative effort, with Thomas and his wife Lynn working their magic to transform the raw materials into a masterpiece. They poured metallic epoxy onto the walnut and lacquered it, while the maple simply needed a coat of lacquer. The result is an amazing testament to both craftsmanship and technology.

As we look back on this remarkable year, it's clear that our community has achieved great things. With over 313,800 votes cast across 365 categories in the Best of the Best poll, it's no surprise that this issue of Cityview Magazine is a record-breaker. We've published an impressive 236-page book, featuring 40 pages of business spotlights dedicated to our winners.

As we move forward into 2024, which marks Cityview's 40th anniversary year, we're excited to continue celebrating the achievements of our community. The Seymour Marine Discovery Center is honored to be part of this journey and looks forward to many more years of recognizing the Best of the Best.
